Within NHS Providers

NHS Providers is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued, respected, and supported and welcomes applications regardless of sex, gender identity, race, age, sexuality, beliefs, or disability. To be successful in this role you will need to be personally committed to being anti-racist and support our broader diversity work across all protected characteristics.

We are working hard to ensure that we are diverse and inclusive in all we do. This runs from how we gather, author, and share the thought leadership that the organisation puts out to how we engage with our members and the wider public. It includes how we recruit staff and procure partners and services, through to how we give people opportunities to develop, grow and advance their careers. We are committed to the development of positive policies to promote equal opportunities in employment, regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy, and maternity. This commitment will apply to recruitment and selection practices, learning, and development and internal promotions.

“NHS Providers is working to become an actively anti racist organisation. The internal programme, including the development of a mission statement and action plan with appropriate scrutiny and accountability reflect their commitment to translate words into action. I am pleased to see the organisation is developing a programme of support for members in this crucial area. The recent report Race 2.0 – Time for real change provided a valuable platform for this work, and they have also provided helpful public commentary, webinars and podcasts.”

I really enjoy my role in workforce policy because the work is high-impact, I feel invested in, and my colleagues are wonderful. The workforce portfolio has allowed me to deep-dive into my interests, retaining previous stakeholder relationships whilst developing lots of new ones, and seeing my work in national publications. It’s exciting to be part of an organisation which is growing in both numbers and impact, and great that the leadership team have spent time thinking about staff development and progression as this happens. The people here are lovely too which is the icing on the cake!

Policy Advisor (Workforce)

I find working at NHS Providers fast paced and exciting. The organisation is very supportive of its people, both professionally and personally, and I have definitely found this to be true within my own line management support and my team members. It’s great to be a part of an organisation that regularly updates staff about what’s going on within the industry so that everyone across the board feels as though they are in the loop, and we can work collectively to continue to make an impact. Some exciting aspects of the organisation is the continuing growth of the company and the development opportunities available for staff. You can really sense the passion that colleagues have towards the work they do here which makes NHS Providers a motivating place to work.

As an NHS manager, working in the service for over 30 years, I attended many events hosted by NHS Providers and was always impressed by the organisation. This has been reinforced since working for them, where my experience has been valued , and there is a constant relentless focus on supporting the needs of our member trusts. It has created a welcoming environment with a strong emphasis on team working and despite rapid expansion in the last couple of years has retained a friendly feel and genuine concern for staff welfare.
