Description

NHS Providers is the membership organisation and trade association for the NHS’s provider sector.  We offer unrivalled influence, voice and support to our members who account for £124bn of annual expenditure and employ 1.5 million people.  We are an outstanding membership organisation responding to an extraordinary set of challenges and the wider demands faced by members at a time of operational pressure and resource constraint.

An apolitical organisation, we seek to speak with authority on healthcare matters and to influence policy.  We help NHS foundation trusts and trusts to deliver high-quality, patient-focused care by enabling them to learn from each other, acting as their public voice and helping shape the system in which they operate.

This appointment comes at an exciting and challenging time for the sector and for NHS Providers. It offers a compelling opportunity to play an important leadership role at the heart of the NHS and to exercise sector-wide influence and leadership.

The chair will work closely with the chief executive to access and to engage key influencers and policy makers, representing NHS Providers in other important but informal networks such as chairs of key statutory bodies including NHS England and Care Quality Commission, where they will fit credibly as a peer.

If you have a strong affinity with the NHS, believe you can influence national debate and challenge healthcare issues, and have the experience to command respect with our key stakeholders, please visit our recruitment website at www.nhsproviders-leaders.co.uk to read more about our work and this recruitment process, and to view the video of our CEO explaining the organisation.  Please also contact GatenbySanderson’s Robin Staveley (robin.staveley@gatenbysanderson.com), Dr Melanie West (melanie.west@gatenbysanderson.com ) or Joanna Riley (joanna.riley@gatenbysanderson.com) for a confidential conversation.

NHS Providers is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued, respected, and supported and welcomes applications regardless of sex, gender identity, race, age, sexuality, beliefs, or disability. To be successful in this role you will need to be personally committed to being anti-racist and support our broader diversity work across all protected characteristics.
