NHS Providers is the membership organisation and trade association for the NHS’s provider sector. We offer unrivalled influence, voice and support to our members who account for £124bn of annual expenditure and employ 1.5 million people. We help NHS foundation trusts and trusts to deliver high-quality, patient-focused care by enabling them to learn from each other, acting as their public voice and helping shape the system in which they operate.
This appointment comes at an exciting and challenging time for the sector and for NHS Providers. It offers a compelling opportunity to play an important leadership role at the heart of the NHS and to exercise sector-wide influence and leadership.
The chair will work closely with the chief executive to access and to engage key influencers and policy makers, representing NHS Providers in other important but informal networks such as chairs of key statutory bodies including NHS England and Care Quality Commission, where they will fit credibly as a peer.

- You should provide the names, positions, organisations, and contact details for your referees, which must be your line managers and include your current and most recent employer. The referees should cover at least two roles as the minimum. Please note, should you be appointed, you will be required to provide references covering your last 6 years of employment as per the new NHS Fit and Proper Person regulations. Where there have been gaps in employment, this six year period will be extended accordingly.
